Brightsea Press, a Lithographic and Digital Printing Company, is committed to playing it’s full part in reducing the effect that it’s printing operations have on the environment for future generations.

We accept that waste is an inevitable by-product from industry, but strongly believe that the correct disposal of our waste material is a major factor in determining the quality and sustainability of our environment.

We are already committed to help the environmental cause by:

1/ Reducing the amount of waste going to landfill or for incineration.
2/ Conserving finite resources.
3/ Promoting environmentally-friendly waste disposal methods.

Commitment
Brightsea Press is committed to provide environmentally-sound and operationally-safe waste disposal.

We are committed as a company, to ensure that we prevent any avoidable pollution, reduce our environmental impact and become more energy efficient as well as reducing our carbon footprint. We are committed to adhere to all UK and European environmental legislation.

We already ensure that our waste is segregated into paper recycling and general waste. All of our waste paper goes for recycling. All of our chemicals and plates go to a company who specialise in waste control to the printing industry.

Our inks are Soya-Based (Vegetable Inks), we have reduced our Alcohol content in the printing process by 50%, our papers are from sustainable sources or fully recycled. We are currently working towards full FSC accreditation.

We are working with Envision to undertake a full environmental audit of the company to identify any further savings that can be made, and to reduce our carbon footprint.

We are corporate members of DEBI (Devon Environmental Business Initiative) and are also founder members of the Exeter REC (Resource and Efficiency Club). Working with these organisations we will be able to benefit from best practice networking of ideas.

Brightsea Press are keen to advise their customers on eco-friendly solutions to their printing requirements for both Litho and Digital printing. We also recommend methods for efficient substrate use on all printing jobs. Our main paper supplier are the first National UK paper merchant who have attained both Chain of Custody (promoting products that are sourced from sustainable forests under the remit of FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) or are manufactured from recycled materials.
